The Laboratory of Medical and Biological Research was established on January 1, 2026, as part of the Department of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry. The laboratory was officially opened on February 3, 2026. This research unit is headed by Professor Victoria Lipson, Doctor of Chemical Sciences. She works in the fields of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry and related sciences. The laboratory is equipped with a wide range of modern scientific equipment. The laboratory includes groups focused on organic synthesis, microbiological research, and molecular genetic research.
Main Scientific Directions
- Synthesis of heterocyclic compounds of various types including supramolecular and coordination compounds.
- Chemical modification of natural compounds.
- Experimental and theoretical study of the chemical and physicochemical properties of organic compounds and materials based on them;
- Improvement of existing and development of new methods of synthesis, techniques, and procedures for chemical analysis, spectral, and chromatographic studies.
- Microbiological studies, screening of new organic compounds.
- Molecular genetic studies.
