B.M. Krasovitskiy Department of Luminescent Materials and Dyes traces its roots to the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis and Organic Luminophores, founded in 1961 by Prof. Borys Krasovitskiy. He pioneered the national school of organic luminophores and laid the foundation for research in the chemistry of luminescent materials. In 2004, the Department of Organic Luminophores and Dyes was formally established under the leadership of Dr. Leonid Patsenker. Since 2013, the department has been headed by Dr. Anatoliy Tatarets, and in 2018 it was expanded through the integration of the Laboratory of Organic Materials, led by Dr. Alexander Krivoshey.
Today, the department's research interests cover a wide range of areas: from the design, synthesis and study of the properties of new luminescent materials to the study of the possibilities of their practical application.
