Despite all the challenges, it is necessary to have our own development strategy. Report of the Director of the IFMC of the SSI “Institute for Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Valentyn Chebanov to the staff.

Traditionally, in April, reports by the heads of the Institution constituent entities are presented to their staff. Reports of SSI constituent entities directors are far more than a formal procedure or a mere summary of results. They represent a substantive analysis of achievements, challenges, and the directions on which the teams will continue to work.

Yesterday, a staff meeting of the IFNC was held in a hybrid format, where the Director of the Institute of Functional Materials Chemistry of the SSI, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Valentyn Chebanov, summarized the team’s achievements for 2025, outlined problematic aspects, and defined development priorities for the next period. In particular, the discussion covered the results of scientific and technological activities, project implementation, preservation and support of human resources, opportunities for acquiring new scientific equipment, engagement of young researchers, popularization of science, ensuring decent working conditions under wartime conditions, as well as expanding participation in international projects and grant programs. This year, the IFMC development strategу up to 2030 was also presented.

The General Director of the State Scientific Institution “Institute for Single Crystals,” Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Semynozhenko, highly appreciated the work of the IFMC, thanked the team for their productive efforts, and emphasized that despite difficult conditions it is necessary to implement their own development strategy. He also stressed that the SSI leadership is doing everything possible to preserve and develop the Institution despite the challenges.
